Noosa (First Point)

Famous longboard point in Noosa Heads. Soft, peeling rights when a south-east swell wraps in.
Best: south-south-westerly wind, east-north-east to south-south-east swell, mid tide. -
Tea Tree Bay
Intermediate+
Classic Noosa point inside the national park, at its best on a bigger south-east swell.
Best: south-south-westerly wind, east-north-east to south-south-east swell, mid tide. -
Sunshine Beach
Intermediate+
Open beach break that picks up lots of swell. Punchy banks when the wind is offshore.
Best: westerly wind, north-north-east to south swell, mid tide. -
Peregian
Beginner+
Long stretch of beach breaks with plenty of peaks to spread out.
Best: westerly wind, north-north-east to south swell, mid tide. -
Coolum
Beginner+
Beach break beside Point Perry, with a little shelter at the northern end.
Best: westerly wind, north-north-east to south swell, mid tide. -
Point Cartwright

Exposed beach by the Point Cartwright lighthouse that grabs plenty of swell.
Best: west-north-westerly wind, north-east to south swell, mid tide. -
Alexandra Headland
Beginner+
Beach and point at Alex, sheltered from southerlies. Good for a range of levels.
Best: south-westerly wind, north-east to south-south-east swell, mid tide. -
Mooloolaba
Learner+
North-facing bay that only breaks on bigger swells. Very gentle when it does: great for first waves.
Best: south-south-westerly wind, east-north-east to south-south-east swell, mid tide. -
Moffat Beach

Right-hand point at Moffat Headland in Caloundra, best on a south-east swell.
Best: west-north-westerly wind, north-east to south swell, mid tide. -
Kings Beach (Caloundra)

Small, sheltered beach with patrols and gentle waves on most days.
