About Get Frothin’
The Gold Coast surf forecast, in plain English.
What it is
Get Frothin’ is a free surf forecast for the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Instead of charts, it tells you in plain English where to surf today, what time, and why, for your level: learner, beginner, intermediate or advanced. It covers Snapper Rocks, Rainbow Bay, Greenmount, Kirra, Duranbah, Currumbin Alley, Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Main Beach / The Spit.
How it works
Every hour it reads the wind, swell, tide and weather for each break from Open-Meteo, with live wave buoys and official Maritime Safety Queensland tide predictions from the Queensland Government. It scores each hour for each break and level using local knowledge of what every break needs. When surfers rate their sessions, the forecast learns what conditions people actually enjoy at each spot.
Social, simply
Check in when you paddle out so others can see who is out, flag conditions like rips or crowds, see when surf schools are in the water, log your sessions and keep a quiver of your boards.
Privacy
No account is needed. Optional sign-in uses Tide: no email and no password, and your keys are not held by any single server.
Free, thanks to local sponsors
Get Frothin’ is free for surfers. A clearly labelled sponsor card from a local business keeps it that way. Businesses can get in touch at support@getfrothin.com.
